Payment information
Orthodontics improves your overall health and confidence… At Black Orthodontics, we don’t want finances to stand in the way of your smile.
We understand that orthodontic treatment is an investment, and sometimes the fear of affording it can turn people away. That’s why we work with you to find an affordable arrangement that fits your budget.
Black Orthodontics provides interest-free monthly payments, and we file most dental insurances.
There are no hidden costs with Black Orthodontics. When we present you with a treatment plan and its associated cost, it’s a turn-key operation. This means the fee presented to you will not only get you through all necessary treatment visits but also provides one year of visits after you complete your treatment to make sure you’re happy—and stay happy.
One set of retainers is included in your treatment package; however, just as contacts or glasses need replacing, so may retainers. Retainers are for life and, when worn correctly, will protect your investment. We encourage patients’ parents to help make the retainer important to the patient.
Black Orthodontics also has a scholarship program called Black Gives Back. Dr. Black is committed to providing up to 72,000 worth of orthodontic scholarships each year to help underserved children in our community who may not otherwise have the opportunity to improve their smile.
Payment plans
We offer several options to make paying for orthodontics more affordable and easier for you. Our goal at Black Orthodontics is to provide you with the flexibility needed to design a payment plan that works for you. In addition to making scholarships available and filing to insurance, we offer the following payment plans:
- Cash paid-in-full discount — We offer a discount when you pay for your entire treatment plan upfront.
- Interest-free (0%) monthly payments — If paying a lump sum all at once isn’t a good option for you, we offer interest-free monthly payments throughout your treatment.
- FSA and/or HSA — Orthodontic treatment almost always qualifies for flexible spending accounts (FSAs) and health savings accounts (HSAs) reimbursement. Our team has experience working with company plans and we will file any required paperwork to complete your payment request.
- FSAs allow a set amount of pretax money that is taken out of your salary for the sole purpose of paying for healthcare costs. It’s important to note that FSAs are only offered through your place of employment.
- Similar to FSAs, an HSA also allows a set amount of pretax money to be taken out of your salary for the sole purpose of paying for healthcare costs. It’s important to note that HSAs are only offered through your place of employment.
- CareCredit — Orthodontic treatment is eligible for this third-party financing system with no interest.
Insurance
Some dental insurance plans provide orthodontic coverage, which includes clear aligners, clear braces, and metal braces. Our team will contact your insurance provider and verify your orthodontic eligibility and benefit prior to your initial visit. Typically, if you have coverage you will have a lifetime maximum of $1,000, $1,500, or $2,000 of orthodontic coverage with your dental insurance.
If your carrier will allow us to accept the assignment, we will file to your insurance once treatment has started. We deduct however much they will pay right off the top of your treatment fee.
We work to help ensure you receive your maximum amount of coverage, getting you all the savings we can.
But even if you don’t have dental insurance, no worries! Most patients actually don’t have orthodontic insurance, which is another reason we offer so many flexible payment options.
